Introduction
Welcome to SmarterView, provided by Smarter Technologies Group. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the SmarterView platform, which provides real-time visualisation of data collected through IoT sensors and smart meters. By signing up and using SmarterView, you agree to comply with these terms.
Account Registration & Security
To access SmarterView, you must register using your email address and create login credentials through our third-party authentication provider, OKTA, with mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information.
Role-Based Access
Access to data within SmarterView is granted on a role-based basis. Your level of access is determined by your organisation’s administrator and may vary based on your role. Smarter Technologies Group does not control or modify these access permissions.
Data Ownership & Usage
All data displayed on SmarterView is owned by the customer. Smarter Technologies Group does not claim ownership of any data, nor do we process, sell, or share your data with third parties under any circumstances. We solely provide a visual representation of your electricity, gas, and water consumption in real time.
Data Privacy & GDPR Compliance
We are committed to protecting your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). The only personal data we collect is your email address and login credentials for authentication purposes. This data is used solely to provide access to the platform and will not be shared or sold. For more information on how we handle your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
By signing up for SmarterView, you agree to receive periodic notifications of your data via email. These notifications are enabled by default. You can opt out of this service at any time by unsubscribing from our emails using the link provided in each email.
No Advisory Service
SmarterView provides data visualisation only. We do not offer advice, recommendations, or analysis based on the data displayed. Any decisions made using the data are solely the responsibility of the customer.
Service Availability
While we strive to provide continuous access to SmarterView, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, technical issues, or third-party service disruptions may affect availability.
Liability
Smarter Technologies Group shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from inaccuracies in the data, platform outages, or system failures. Use of the SmarterView platform is at your own risk, and all data is presented “as is” without warranty of any kind.
User Obligations
Users must not engage in any activity that could harm, disable, or compromise the integrity or security of the SmarterView platform. This includes, but is not limited to, unauthorised access, tampering with data, attempting to bypass access controls, reverse engineering, or using the platform in any unlawful manner. Any misuse may result in immediate suspension or termination of access.
Data Retention Policy
Data collected and displayed within SmarterView is retained for a period of six (6) years. After this period, data may be securely deleted or anonymised in accordance with our data retention procedures.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be communicated to users via the platform or email. Continued use of SmarterView constitutes acceptance of any updates.
